BECKER & POLIAKOFF ATTORNEY ALAN KRINZMAN RECEIVES GREEN BUILDING CERTIFICATION INSTITUTE PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION

Alan KrinzmanFT. LAUDERDALE, FL, October 1, 2008 – Becker & Poliakoff, P.A., a diversified commercial law firm with more than 125 attorneys in 13 offices throughout Florida, in New York City, and affiliated offices in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, today announced that attorney and shareholder Alan Krinzman has received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Professional Accreditation from the Green Building Certification Institute.

Recipients of LEED Professional Accreditation (LEED APs) are building industry professionals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building, the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED green building ratings system, and are qualified to assist building owners and managers with the LEED certification process.

One of only 15 LEED AP accredited attorneys in the state of Florida, Mr. Krinzman uses his accreditation to assist clients in their green building initiatives including understanding, evaluating and navigating the LEED certification process. He also helps clients with legal and risk management issues inherent in the implementation of a green building strategy, ranging from identifying economic incentives available for green building, to leasing, construction contracting, and purchasing, financing and insurance issues.

A shareholder in Becker & Poliakoff's Coral Gables office, Mr. Krinzman has more than 20 years of experience representing clients in acquiring and developing all types of commercial and residential properties, negotiating construction documents and budgets, interacting with contractors and architects, and navigating the governmental approval and permitting process.

In 1998 the U.S. Green Building Council ("USGBC") developed the leadership in energy and environmental design ("LEED") green building rating system. The LEED rating system evaluates the design, construction and operation of newly constructed or renovated buildings and serves as the voluntary national standard for sustainable buildings.

The purpose of the LEED rating system is to promote integrated building design practices and establish a common standard of measurement. LEED ratings are available for many current building types and emphasize state-of-the-art strategies in five important areas of Sustainable Site Development, Water Savings and Quality, Energy Efficiency and Design, Materials Selection and Construction Process and Indoor Environmental Quality.
