Professional Experience
Elinette Ruiz is a member of the Firm's Government Law & Lobbying and Government Procurement Practice Groups. She has broad experience in Government Relations at the local, state and federal levels of government. Using her insider's knowledge of governmental processes and programs, Ms. Ruiz assists private sector clients doing business with governments with procurement, land use, zoning and related matters. She has worked on a wide range of matters related to the use of real estate and has assisted clients with responses to Request for Proposals which involves assisting with drafting and structuring the response as well as advocacy before the reviewing bodies.
Before entering private practice, Ms. Ruiz served as counsel to the Miami Dade County Mayor and in the Mayor's office of Public and Intergovernmental Relations. She also gained valuable experience working in Washington, D.C. in the U.S. House of Representatives for Congressman Lincoln Diaz Balart and as an intern at the U.S. Department of State's Department of Public Affairs.
She served as a Law Clerk for the The Honorable Judge Mario P. Goderich, Third District Court of Appeal, during law school and spent three years in the financial industry prior to law school as a Registered Sales Assistant with Prudential Securities and Salomon Smith Barney, obtaining a General Securities Series 7 License with the National Association of Securities Dealers "NASD".
