Professional Experience
David Karpinia is an attorney in the Firm’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group.
Before entering private practice, Mr. Karpinia worked for over eighteen years at Motorola, Inc. in various capacities and positions including as a Six Sigma Black Belt along with a variety of Engineering, Operations and Project Management Roles. Mr. Karpinia’s experience includes contract management, technical writing in support of the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, commercial contracts, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), government procurement, licensing, technical development management, project management, product design, manufacturing, distribution and technical service.
As a recognized Black Belt in both DMAIC (Define Measure Analyze Improve and Control) and DFSS (Design for Six Sigma), Mr. Karpinia has used the Six Sigma methodology to improve the capability of the business processes in multiple environments from transactional to manufacturing and in products and service. He has provided his clients with an increase in capability resulting in a vast improvement in profits, employee morale and quality of product with decreases in process variability, defects and waste that ultimately undermine customer loyalty. Often referred to as a passionate problem solver, Mr. Karpinia synergistically develops unique solutions to problematic issues others can find no solution for, typically completed ahead of schedule and consistently below allocated cost.
