Professional Experience
Melissa Beigel is an attorney in the Firm's Community Association Law Group where she represents condominium, cooperative, and homeowner's association clients in areas including corporate governance, contracts, and enforcement of association covenants and bylaws.
Prior to joining Becker & Poliakoff, Melissa practiced in the Miami Dade Public Defender's Office's Felony Crimes Division, Domestic Representation Unit and Juvenile Division. She tried more than forty cases in a five year period. She gained valuable courtroom experience and established extensive contacts with Judges, lawyers, and high ranking government personnel. During law school, Melissa was a law clerk at The Alvarez Law Firm where she prepared legal memoranda in anticipation of litigation of medical malpractice cases and pharmaceutical cases.
Honors and Awards
In 2004, Melissa received The Spencer Aronfeld Award for Public Justice which recognizes one student each year with outstanding advocacy skills in the public service. Melissa also received the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Attorney Award for showing great promise in the practice of Criminal Litigation.
